Vetting CAFG Projects

If you are considering a project for CAFG, be prepared to address these issues and establish your project team.

1. Would there be significant economic benefits to the community, in terms of new or saved jobs and/or dollars, if the proposed project were to come to fruition?
2. With respect to commitment and competence, what is our evaluation of current sponsorship for the proposed project by interested individuals and/or organizations?
3. Who are the ‘stakeholders' that are/would be affected by the proposed project?
4. Does the proposed project involve community political issues that can be reasonably resolved or mitigated through constructive interaction between the project's sponsors and the stakeholders?
5. Should the proposed project be better formulated or ‘seasoned' with the passage of time before CAFG further considers its involvement?
6. In lieu of CAFG could some other community group or individual provide equal or better support for the proposed project?
7. What CAFG resources, both human and financial, would be required to support the proposed project?
8. Does CAFG or any of its board members have any meaningful conflict of interest with the proposed project?
9. Is a CAFG board member prepared & qualified to act as Project Leader for the proposed project?
